The sweet lime (also known as Lima dulce, Persian Sweet lime, Indian Sweet lime, and Palestinian Sweet lime) is an aromatic, juicy, low-acid citrus fruit with a distinctive mildly sweet taste and subtle notes of honey. Persian Sweet Limes are considered the favorite citrus fruit in Iran, and they have many uses in Indian, Latin American, and Middle Eastern cuisine. High in vitamin C, they make a sweet, refreshing and nutritious juice. They can be used as a substitute for lemon, lime and orange juice in many cocktails and marmalades, as well as more substantial dishes such as Sweet and Spicy Chicken. Dwarf sweet lime trees are easy to grow in containers and make attractive ornamental plants.
When grown in pots, miniature sweet limes reach about 6 or 7 feet. They may produce fruit between 1 and 3 years after attaining their full height.
Dwarf sweet lime seedlings will be 11 to 14 inches tall when shipped.
