How are my plants shipped?
I ship seedlings as “bare root,” rather than in a pot. With this method, the roots are wrapped in a damp paper towel and covered with plastic to keep them moist and prevent them from drying out.
Does sending plants through the mail damage them?
Plants are tougher than most people think, and can do very well when shipped if they are properly packaged.
When are my plants shipped?
At this time, I only ship plants when temperatures are well above freezing in Tennessee. This means that shipping occurs between April and October. If you order a plant outside of that window, please be aware that you will receive it in the spring once the weather warms up.
While it can be hard to wait for your plants (and believe me, I get it!), this is a great opportunity to plan ahead for your holiday gifting needs, birthday gifts, or your spring or summer garden. And the excitement you’ll feel when your plants finally arrive in the mail is unparalleled!
Where do you ship?
I ship seedlings to the lower 48 states only.
What happens if my plant is dead or damaged on arrival?
Please be aware that I can’t take responsibility for how the plant is handled by the U.S. postal service, UPS, FedEx, or any other shipping service. If the box was mishandled by the carrier, you can submit a claim with that carrier. Delays in shipping due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances are beyond my control.
That said, if your plant arrives dead or damaged, please take pictures as soon as you remove the plant from the box and contact me immediately at eastnashgreens@gmail.com. I’ll do what I can to make you happy.
Do you grow your plants from seed or grafts?
All of my plants are grown from seed. While conventional wisdom holds that seed-grown citrus does not produce fruit, many growers have found otherwise. Seed-grown citrus will often produce fruit, although it may take a bit longer than citrus plants raised from grafts.
As an added bonus, seed-grown plants tend to be hardier than their grafted cousins. One grower reports that his seed-grown lemon trees survived the 2021 winter freeze in Houston, TX, whereas his grafted plants all died!
What are the care requirements for my plant?
Basic care information is included in each product listing. I send on a more detailed sheet of care requirements with your order.
Can I see a picture of the exact plant I will get?
I am unable to share pictures of the exact plant you will receive. However, if you are not happy with your plant, please reach out and I will do my best to make things right. Please email eastnashgreens@gmail.com.
Due to the nature of my products, I am unable to offer returns. With that said, if there is any issue with your order, please reach out so I can make things right!
Damaged plants
Please inspect your order as soon as you receive it and contact me immediately if the item is defective or damaged or if you receive the wrong item. Be sure to take a picture of the plant.
I will notify you once I’ve received a refund request, and let you know if the refund was approved. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded using your original payment method. Be aware that it can take time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund and post it to your account.
