About Us

For nearly a decade, East Nash Greens has been the go-to source for unusual organic and heirloom seedlings for an increasing number of gardeners in Nashville and surrounding areas. Now we are branching out to sell everywhere the U.S. postal service will deliver in the continental United States. This means that you can get the same exciting varieties and personalized service that our East Nashville neighbors have come to expect every growing season. And not only that. we are expanding to offer seedlings year round. From veggie and herb seedlings in the spring and summer to dwarf citrus trees in the fall and winter, we have what you need to make your outdoor and indoor growing spaces bountiful, beautiful, nutritious, and delicious. All of our plants are grown with the health of the earth in mind, using organic and sustainable practices. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides come anywhere near our growing spaces. This means better health for you and your family as well as your local animals, plants, and pollinators. We confidently guarantee that you’ll find something to love at East Nash Greens.

Frequently Asked Seedling Questions

It varies! Most citrus seedlings will be a few inches tall when you receive them. Tomato plants, however, come in small and medium sizes. Medium size seedlings are ideal for the impatient gardener who is eager for the harvest! Between 8 and 12 inches tall, they may have flowers and bear earlier than the small sizes. Small seedlings, 4 to 6” tall, offer a long season of growing and anticipation of first fruits.
At this time, all of our plants -- tomatoes, basil, peppers, cukes, squash, okra,, and dwarf citrus -- are grown from seed. When it comes to citrus, conventional wisdom holds that trees grown from seed do not produce fruit. However, many growers have found otherwise. Seed-grown citrus will often produce fruit, although it may take a bit longer than citrus plants raised from grafts. As an added bonus, seed-grown plants tend to be hardier than their grafted cousins. One grower reported that his seed-grown lemon trees survived the 2021 winter freeze in Houston, TX, whereas his grafted plants all died! No guarantees are provided that any plants will bear fruit.
Yes. We ship plants when temperatures are well above freezing in Tennessee, and before the weather gets too hot -- that is to say, from April to May. If you order a plant in the late fall or winter, please be aware that you will receive it in the spring once the weather warms up. We may also offer early fall shipping starting in October 2023. Stay tuned for details! While it can be hard to wait for your plants (and believe us, we get it!), this is a great opportunity to plan ahead for your holiday gifting needs, birthday gifts, or your spring or summer garden. And the excitement you’ll feel when your plants finally arrive in the mail is unparalleled! If you placed your order between winter and early spring, start checking your email in April for a shipping notification. We ship via USPS.

Please be aware that we can’t take responsibility for how the plant is handled by the U.S. postal service. If the box was mishandled by the carrier, you can submit a claim with that carrier. Delays in shipping due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances are beyond our control. That said, we want you to be happy with your order. If your plant arrives dead or unhealthy looking (aside from some temporary drooping, which is natural after being confined in a box), please take pictures as soon as you remove the plant from the box and contact us immediately at eastnashgreens@gmail.com. Once you submit a refund request, you will be notified that we have received your request. If the refund is approved, you’ll be automatically refunded using your original payment method. Be aware that it can take time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund and post it to your account. Your happiness matters to us!
You will receive a detailed page of care instructions with your order.

I like buying local, and getting seedlings that I know aren't treated with neonicotinoids! Great selection of tomatoes.
